Usage guidance: A pillar in a parking area takes repeated low-speed impacts from bumpers and mirrors, which chips paint and eventually spalls concrete at the corner. Wrapping the corner in a guard absorbs that impact instead of the pillar taking it. The aluminium-backed version holds its shape under repeated hits and is easier to keep clean; the rubber-only L-type flexes more on impact and covers a larger corner radius.
